Procedure description.
During facial sanding, Dr. Casso will sand the superficial layers of the skin to achieve a smoother and more even surface. The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis under sedation and local or general anesthesia.
Recuperation and healing.
Post-operative pain is controlled with oral medication. The treated area is covered with a medicated ointment or a protective membrane following the facial sanding. Healing occurs within five to seven days, when makeup may be applied. Redness of the skin fades gradually over a two to three month period.
