CHEEK IMPLANTS

Problem.

Small or significantly reduced cheek tissue and cheekbone contour as an inherited characteristic or as a result of aging.

Who is a candidate?

  • Individuals who desire a more prominent cheek contour.

  • Individuals who desire improved facial symmetry and improved facial balance.

Procedure description.

Computer imaging is extremely helpful in assessing the problem and simulating the intended results. During the cheek implant surgery, Dr. Casso will make a small incision under the upper lip or in the lower eyelid. A biologically inert, correctly shaped implant will be inserted over the natural cheekbone contour. The procedure is done on an outpatient basis under local or general anesthesia.

Recuperation and healing.

After the cheek implants surgery, discomfort is mild to moderate and is controlled with oral medications. Sutures in the mouth dissolve, and sutures under the eyelids are removed in four to five days.
